Look at these darling little handmade elephants by Fern & Feather.  I'm always on the lookout for beautiful baby gifts.  With two friends having babies soon I think I might just have to order one in but it's so hard to choose which one!  Click HERE to see the current selection available.

Theater Napkin Project with Yudu

This weekend was wonderful.  My husband, Duncan the wonder dog, and I had a relaxing yet productive weekend.  One of my more interesting tasks was this dinner napkin project using my Yudu.  I have to give a shout out to Jeannie from A Place for my Cards because she made some amazing wedding napkins.  Her wedding napkins inspired me on so many levels - fall and holiday decor, as well as holiday gifts.

My son's girlfriend teaches high school drama so I took the tragedy & comedy masks art and created a screen to print these napkins.  I tried to video the process to give you the basic idea.  I plan to do more napkins in the near future... I purchased lovely pumpkin colored napkins for a fall/Thanksgiving themed napkins.  I may even work my way up to using two colors!!!

And here is one last look at the finished napkins.  I also made some screen print note cards using the same screen.  I think Crissie will really like the personalized feel of both the napkins and the note cards.

Buried in Cookies, Gift Wrap, Ribbon & Bows, and Other Signs of the Season

I have been missing from my blog for several days now.  I just popped out from under the gift wrap, with flour on my face, to wish you all a Merry Christmas!!!  I did manage to complete one last project before closing up my scraproom for the holidays.

My lovely next door neighbor is creating a cookbook for her son.  She purchased a one inch ring bound notebook at a local office supply store which fits 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch paper to use as the recipe book.  This is the type of notebook she purchased.  She plans to print two recipes per page, using the landscape view, then cut the sheet in half and place in the notebook with divider tabs.  She wisely purchased a presentation style notebook with an plastic cover for sliding in a cover sheet and spine label.

This is where I came in.  My neighbor graciously allowed me to create the cover for her cookbook.  I had such fun with this.  I actually designed two covers, but went with a more traditional look, which my neighbor loved!  The file required only two cartridges, A Child's Year and Winter Woodlands.  I will add the cut file to the downloadable cut files on the left side of the blog, just in case anyone else is interested.  Though I will say that this is a very basic cut file. The cut file title is Mom's Recipes for Chris.

Once again, I wish each of you a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Christmas Gift Idea

For the friend or relative who has everything, I think these personalised paperweights from Iomoi make for a fantastic gift. A couple of Christmas' ago I gave all my girlfriends one of these and they loved them. I think they look great on a coffee table or bedside table clustered in a group. Maybe this could be the start of a collection of paper weights for your friend/relative! My only problem is choosing which one to go for as there are SO many gorgeous designs to select from!!
