Key opposition party in Jordan calls for re-opening Hamas office

[ 05/05/2011 - 09:16 AM ]

AMMAN, (PIC)-- The Jordanian Islamic Action Front party has called on the Amman government to invite Hamas leader Khaled Mishaal to visit the Kingdom and to re-open the movement's office in the capital.

Murad Al-Adayla, in charge of Palestine issue in the party, the biggest opposition party in Jordan, said in a statement on Wednesday that the government should re-consider its relations with all Palestinian forces and stand at equal distance from each of them.

Adayla, who was commenting on the Palestinian reconciliation agreement, asked the Jordanian government to support the agreement and ensure its success, which would serve both the Jordanian national security and the Palestine cause.

He opined that the Palestinian reconciliation was a natural result to the revolutions that were sweeping the Arab region and toppling regimes that served the Israeli interests rather than their own.

"In Syria, as the old French saying goes, it is urgent to do nothing!"

Via FLC

"... Liberation from outside is as dangerous a game as revolution. With neither can the outcome be predicted. The Poles were liberated from the Nazis in 1945, only to find themselves under the Red Army. Many Iraqis wanted to depose Saddam Hussein in 2003, but the American Army turned out to be a blunt instrument that made their lives more hellish than Saddam had. I remember when Palestinians in the West Bank complained about Jordanian rule. I suspect that having since 1967 been occupied by Israel’s army and displaced by Israel’s settlers, they would give anything to have the Jordanians back. So before Uncle Sam rides to the rescue in Syria, give it some thought...."

Salah: Reconciliation prelude to liberation of the Aqsa

[ 01/05/2011 - 10:49 AM ]

AMMAN, (PIC)-- Sheikh Ra'ed Salah, the leader of the Islamic movement in 1948 occupied Palestine, said that the reconciliation between Fatah and Hamas would serve as a prelude for the liberation of the holy Aqsa Mosque.

Sheikh Salah was addressing a massive rally attended by six thousand people in the southern Jordanian Red Sea resort of Aqaba on Saturday night.

He said that Jordan is the gate toward liberation of Palestine and the fate of Amman is the same as that of Jerusalem.

Commenting on the Arab revolutions, Salah said, "Today in Tunisia and Egypt and tomorrow in Jerusalem, God willing".

Islamic scholars from Tunisia, Egypt and other countries attended the rally.

Farid Ghadri: "Arms flowing to rebels from Iraq, Jordan & Lebanon"

Via FLC

"... Syrian opposition sources said tribes in Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon have been relaying weapons in an effort to oust President Bashar Assad. They said the weapons were sent to avenge the killing by Syrian security forces of tribal members over the last month.
"One of Assad's biggest mistakes is that his security forces have been killing members of powerful tribes with a presence in neighboring countries as well," an opposition source said.
The weapons smuggling to the Syrian rebels began in March when Assad forces shot and killed members of tribes in Dera near the Jordanian border. Some of the tribes in Dera have links with supporters in Iraq, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
On April 19, a son of a powerful tribal chief, Saleh Al Fadous, was killed by Assad forces in the northern city of Homs. Fadous is a member of the Fawareh tribe with allies in Iraq and Jordan, including Duleimeh and Bani Hassan.
"Arms are flowing into Syria in large quantities today by tribal leaders whose traditional bonds with the tribes of Syria make it impossible not to smuggle arms," the Reform Party of Syria said. "As Assad massacres continue against unarmed civilians, he is also driving the country towards an outright civil war."
RPS, in a statement on April 23, said Bani Hassan was a leading ally of King Abdullah in Jordan. For its part, Duleimeh, descendants of the Shaalan tribe, was connected to and supportive of the Saudi royal family.
The Assad regime has confirmed arms smuggling from Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon. In mid-April, an Iraqi truck driver confessed to receiving thousands of dollars for arms shipments to Syria.
On April 26, the Syrian-influenced Lebanese daily Al Akhbar quoted a Lebanese mayor as saying that an attempt to smuggle weapons to Syria was foiled. Al Hisha Mayor Mohammed Durgham was quoted as saying that villagers were conducting patrols to stop any smuggling."

Israel: ‘ Islamists to takeover Jordan, too!’

Israelis see Islamists behind every anti-governments protest in the Middle East. Islamists’ takeover of the pro-western monarchies and military dictatorship by the so-called ‘anti-Israel-Jew-hating’ Islamists, has become the latest ‘holocaust myth’. It’s scaring the hell out of the Islamophobes in the US and several European countries.

As if Benji Netanyahu & Co. were not paranoid enough by the thought of losing their two Muslim strategic allies (Turkey and Egypt) – TIME on April 18, 2011, threw another bombshell – pro-Muslim Brotherhood, the Islamic Action Front (IAF), Jordan’s main Opposition Party, “virtually took over the protest movement by rallying supporters in the capital Amman, turning out more than 1,000 marchers in the city”.

Karen Leigh did not forget to add spice to her ‘scary’ story. She mentioned that the “much feared head of Al-Qaeda,” Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, was from town of Zarqa (Jordan)”. In fact, US has claimed killing of countless “much feared heads” of the phony Al-Qaeda since 2001.

However, as expected, Karen did not mention some of Israel’s dirty fingerprints in Jordan. In April 1970, Palestinians demontrated against the visit of Assistant Secretary of State Sisco to sell the ‘Rogers Peace Plan’, which offered Jordan and Egypt the possibility of the return of land occupied by Israel – in exchange for a “peace treaty” with the Zionist entity and withdrawal of any backing for the claim of the Palestinian people to their homeland. The demonstrators in Amman burned down the US Information Center and damaged the US embassy. Both Henry Kissinger and Abba Eban offered their countries help to King Hussein to take military action and finish PLO threat to Israel from Jordan once for all. Begining September 17, 1970, Jordanian tanks started shelling Palestinian refugee camps for the next eleven days – killing 5,000 and injuring 20,000 Palestinian men, women and children. The massacre is known as Black September in Palestinian history.

On September 25, 1997 – Mossad agents failed to assassinate Khaled Mashaal, a political leader of Hamas in Amman, Jordan. The two Jew assasins were released in a prisoner swap that forces Israel to release Sheikh Ahmed Yassin (assassinated on orders of Ariel Sharon on March 22, 2004), the spiritual leader of Islamic Resistance and currently the elected government of PA.

Last year, Jordanian doctor Humam al-Balawi, trained by CIA/Mossad – blew himself up at a US military base in Afghanistan, killing seven American spies.

The Hashemite kingdom of Jordan was carved out of historic Palestine by the British colonialists after WW I and was awarded to Emir Abdullah, son of Sharif Makkah (Ottoman Governor) for leading Arab revolt against Ottoman empire in alliance with British. The great majority of Jordanian citizen are native Palestinians. Like Israel, Jordanian ‘royals’ also depend on US and western support for their survival. While Israel receives $6-14 billion annually from the US, Jordanian ‘royals’ receive $350 million per year.

Jordan and Egypt are the only two Muslim Arab regimes which officially recognize the Zionist entity against the wishes of their citizens.

During the final years of his rule, late King Hussein had become more popular among Israelis than their Zionist leaders. A few days before his death, the spokesman for prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu had told the press that Benji, Israeli government and all of the Israeli people are praying for King Hussein. Israeli leaders, past and present and of all parties – formed the largest foreign delegation to King Hussein’s funeral, to repay what the King had done for the Zionist entity.

Six Police Stabbed, 34 Hurt in Jordan Demo

Jordanian police fired tear gas at protesters Friday after six officers were stabbed and seriously wounded, as more than 1,000 people demonstrated in Amman, demanding reforms and the ouster of the prime minister.

"Forty policemen were injured, including six stabbed, as they tried to disperse a demonstration by Salafists in Zarqa," Khatib said. "The six policemen are in serious condition." He claimed police "had to fire tear gas after a group of Salafists attacked some citizens following their demonstration in Zarqa, accusing them of being atheists."

News websites said dozens of protesters were injured in the clashes.

The Salafists have been demonstrating over the past few weeks to demand the release of 90 prisoners, including Abu Mohammed al-Maqdessi, the onetime mentor of slain Al-Qaeda in Iraq leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

Earlier in Amman, more than 1,000 people demonstrated after midday prayers, demanding "regime reforms," Prime Minister Maaruf Bakhit's ouster and the dissolution of parliament. "The people want to reform the regime and eliminate corruption. Jordan is free, Bakhit, get out," demonstrators chanted as they marched from Al-Husseini mosque in the city centre to the nearby city hall. Holding large national flags, the protesters carried banners reading "the people want democracy and social justice" and "we want to dissolve parliament."

The demonstration was organized by the powerful Muslim Brotherhood and its political arm, the Islamic Action Front (IAF), as well as leftist and other opposition parties. "The demonstrations will continue until reforms are achieved," Jamil Abu Baker, Brotherhood spokesman, told AFP. "So far, we cannot see any (government) intention to carry out reforms. The people are determined to have real reforms and get rid of corruption."
