“DREAM ACT” DOESN’T PASS THE SENATE

“DREAM ACT” DOESN’T PASS THE SENATE - ONCE MORE WE KNOW WHERE REPUBLICANS STAND

NOT ONLY ARE THEY RACISTS, BUT XENOPHOBIC

Today was another sad day for Latinos in America. The Republican Teahadists showed their true colors by defeating with a filibuster the “DREAM ACT”. We have often suspected their disdain for minorities and their inability to do the right thing when it comes to Immigration Reform and now this.

Mind you 55 in favor and 41 against…that is not a super majority but a majority nevertheless, but because the Republicans have and will continue to use the filibuster as a mean to sabotage the Obama administration and anything the Democrats try to do…this one, like so many other pieces of legislation has failed.

"A minority of senators prevented the Senate from doing what most Americans understand is best for the country. There was simply no reason not to pass this important legislation," Obama said in a statement. "It is disappointing that common sense did not prevail today."

This is a slap in the face of Latinos everywhere…so my advice is to those who are even contemplating voting Republican in the future: The Republicans are not friends of Latinos, Blacks, Gays, Jews, Catholics and Muslims and others. They are truly a dwindling minority and shall be relegated to irrelevancy as the demographics catch up with politics…But here is a fair warning to them: WE VOTE; and even if you get a Marco Rubio who is clearly a traitor to his heritage and his culture, we are going to throw all these bums out.
